Interview With EMBRYONIC CELLS ( France )

Since his creation in 1994, EMBRYONIC CELLS knew a lot of troubles, but being doubly patient, after some demo and ten years in the underground, the band 'orings out his first album called "Before The Storm".
History:
we realeased our first demo "Prima Nocte" in 1999. The time came for the second demo, entitled "Necro-Revelation" (2000). Touring the local scene and regions of France for five years. During its representation the live performance was recorded and was released as a DVD and also included interview, report and clip (2005). Today, members of this band are: max (on guitars and vocals), Djo (drums), Dom (bass), and Pierre (keys). During last days of october 2006, EMBRYONIC CELLS recorded first album "Before The Storm" in Creason Design Studio. Album contains 10 songs of terrifying black-thrash metal, sinister, cold and agressive. EMBRYONIC CELLS is not going to stop and at work upon the two album, the recording of wich is going to be stardet in summer 2007. This band play live frequently and have shared the stage with the following bands: Gwar, Nuclear Assault, Obscenity, Mysanthrope, Kronos and more..
We are looking for a label to promote our sound and also contacts with assoc./bands for making a tour. Contact us!!!
About the music
With this second album, Embryonic Cells's music gets better and the band confirms his identity with the news 11 tracks. E;C.'s music is a mix between raw black-metal and powerful thrash. The whole music is rather melancholic. Thanks to "Black Seas" the band reach today a new phase of his evolution; texts are darker, music more agressive and production from Studio Halphas more powerful.
The subjects in the songs
Some ideas come from pictures from our dreams or our childhood. A lot of the texts deals with good and evil. Embryonic Cells's lyrics talk about our propension to sound out the human soul , to sublimate the most abjects actions. The texts are about human interiority. The fantastic allegory is a way for us to evoke interiority, the others and our nevroses. "Black Seas" comes wittin the scope of HP Lovecraft et R. Howard's disturbing universes. Their works speak about the human soul beyond their monstruous appearence. These artists give us a big inspiration.

Hello! who is currently situated in the EMBRYONIC CELLS ( EC ) camp?
We are actually four in the band:
Max-guitars and vocals
Dom- bass
Djo-drums
Pierre- keyboards
Your band name very remind me about SEPULTURA Title's, maybe this Question often receiveband for some interview ... why choose this word for band name .. :)
This name comes from many years ago .It was during a party with friends and alcohol...And we really liked the sound of this name. Of course, we were Sepultura's fans even if EC's music and Sepultura are two works totally differents now.
First time, congratulation for new Cd has be released for Now, and How have people reacted to " Black Seas ", and what is the band doing now? are you satisfied with independent Release, for now EC Still searching for label?
Thanks! The reactions are really positives and we continue to promote this new album (play in live is our absolute priority).Anyway, we are really satisfied of this independant release.The sound is more powerful and the keyboards arrangements are more alive (Pierre joined the band after "Before the storm" album).We are actually in search for a label to promote "black seas" and our music.
How compare with first album called "Before The Storm" after some demo and 13 years in the underground with new Cd " Black seas ', This may some Progressive element music style.
We work hard and take our time to compose. It's really exciting to give to people what you feel. EC is especially a live band and we really enjoyed to play during these 13 years in the
underground. So, recording an album is a culmination.
tell me, How response first time moment " Black Seas " Cd released? what EC keep some doing Any gig promotion for now? tell me about Gigz NO-HELL METAL 2 and ARDENN METAL FEST 3, that is big amazing event or small gigz on Champagne-Ardenne scene?
We played in all over the Champagne to promote this album and we hope play live again and again. About No-Hell Metal 2: it's a festival which join some bands from all Champagne and this is a caritative show, people doesn't pay but give one toy for poor children. DT Prod, which organize these shows try to make an event each time and we are very proud to play for this reason! About the Ardenn Metal Fest 3: It's almost a big event in France organized by Rizzer (death metal band) which join some bands from all over France but we don't exactly who will play there at this time.
How with shared the stage with the following bands like Gwar, Nuclear Assault, Obscenity,Mysanthrope, Kronos, are you very Enjoyed Involving with That Great bands?
Of course we were very proud to share the scene with these great bands.Above all, we are here to play our music but also to have fun with the other bands.
For a Death/Black Metal album , it's as extremely attitude for some potential members.

How long did it take to record " Black Seas " in the studio? What equipment are you guys
using? can you list some specific details about what you use? String sizes, pick size, pickups, etc... Please :)
First, to be ready before the recording of "Black seas" we worked a lot with clicks to feel
the music inside.About the recording sessions, we took 4 days for drums,guitars and bass, then Pierre added his synths parts at home. We came back to the Alphas Studio for the vocals and the mix (hard work in two days...). Finally, we send the master to the PNF studio for the final work: the mastering.It had made by Fred Rochette and we are really pleased about the results! For the sessions, we worked with a Pro-tools station.We played live in order to keep the energy. Abuot the keyboards session and the instrumentals songs we worked with Cubase stations (especially at the At-Ohm studio).We trigged only the kick drum.
This is going to sound crazy, with some Digital Sounding, Especially for Synth Dutiesd id this cross your minds and maybe band concept, are you enjoy with this ... :)
The keyboards parts are thinked like a second guitar so it's complementary with the guitar.
We opted for aerial sounds and the result is quite lyrical but also aggressive.
What has influenced each member for their respective position? Moorcok, Howard, Lovecraft, Tolkien, Burzum, Leviathan, Bathory, Slayer, Crebain, Drastus,... keep on your Mind along with EC ... ??
We all have differents influences in music but we all know the works of Howard, Lovecraft etc... In fact we have the same culture.
What approach do you take to songwriting and who gets involved? You guys seem to incorporate a plethora of genres and influences into each song! and how with EC state with " Everything that blasts the shit out of your fucking face !!! " ?
Max is the only writer of the songs.He likes to play alone at home to keep the feeling about the music and to compose the songs. In general, he plays some riffs and the texts come after.
all of you also good friendship with some France Deathmetal ?? I Know some great name like as INHUMATE, RECUEIL MORBIDE, HECTIC PATTERNS, BENIGHTED and more, maybe you can add name for THE HIGH RECOMMEND KILLER BAND for France Deathmetal Future?
We think that Kronos or Gojira (more popular) are really good bands and present on the
french Death Metal scene
