Hello! First, so who is currently situated in the DEADFLESH camp?
Dave Carrin - Guitar/Vocals/Bass & Joe Tompkins - Vocals

First time, congratulation for new Cd has be released for Now, and How have people reacted to " Returning From Decay ", and what is the band doing now? are you satisfied with Great Job with your label Sevared Records ( Hello Barret !! . ed ) , that label doing some Great Job for DEADFLESH ?
The album has only been out for a couple of weeks now, but Barrett has told me that the sells are going quite well. I'm getting a lot of positive feedback from people online so it's kinda early to tell I guess, but so far, so good. The band right now is in somewhat of a hiatus as far as doing shows, but we have Kyle sitting in on drums here in a couple of months so we can do a show with our friends in "Methadone Abortion Clinic". Still looking for a full-time drummer so we can start doing shows again. If we find another guitarist or bassist I'll play the other. I already have about 1/3 of the next album written and the next CD will have even more guests on it. I can't say enough good things about Barrett. He's defiantely one super cool guy. I've only been talking to him personally for a few months now, but he has given Dead Flesh excellent support and I can't thank him enough for it. Take anything good you can say about anybody and you can just insert that comment here for Barrett.

It seems like the debut new CD “Returning From Decay ” on 2009 has been received rather well. What was the best review you’ve had and which one was the worst?
I haven't been looking for or have heard of many reviews yet for the CD, but it has only been a couple of weeks now since it's release. Other than one review I read that was positive and this one site that had an overall ranking of the album at 3.9 out of 5 after some "fan" voting. I guess that's good. As far as bad reviews, I'm more than aware that many people hate my shit. I've been told that before by some, but who cares really. I do this as a hobby and I like it so fuck 'em.

"Returning From Decay " is DEADFLESH most dramatic and dynamically aggressive Brutal Death metal release thus far, concentrating heavily on creating memorable hooks within a very song-orientated framework. Can you tell me how you approached the song writing this time around and how this process different from your previous Music concept
The ideology of the band hasn't changed to much throught the years. I'd like to think the writing keeps getting better, but for the most part the idea is the same. I just want to write good music for moshing/skanking. My favorite bands growing up were always good mosh/skank bands like Napalm Death, Repulsion, early years of bands like Carcass, Death, Sepultura, D.R.I., also bands like The Accused, Minor Threat, etc. My opinion of good song writing is based primarily on transition of beats contained within. Top priority for me.

How Compared "Returning From Decay " with Ep " Fragments of Gore " or " Diabolical Tales or Other Two Ep Before ? Now I Hear some Several Rough Vocal on Music Style
The vocal styles have changed for many reasons on the different recordings. Different people, different studios/recordings, etc. The first 3 EP's were all Joe overlapping himself on different tracks using 2 different studios; "Fragments of Gore" had Brian Fitzgerald doing all the vocals at a new studio; and the recent fully was done mainly by me and Joe doing the vocals with many guests doing backups, once again at a new studio. Basically, we shit together the first few recordings and we tried a little harder on this fully. I love how "Returning from Decay" turned out, and I love the studio we went to (Vision Sound) and we are going to go there again, but I have some ideas on how to get the next fully sounding even better than this one.

give way to a much more Gory Dark evil and bombastic than ever. How much of a part do classical composers play in terms of influencing the way you create your music?
I'm sure quite a bit. I love classical music, especially really good spanish classical guitar type shit. I also studied classic guitar for a few years, learning lots of stuff by guys like Sor, Segovia, etc., so I'm sure there is some influence in there somewhere from a classical realm.

Basing the lyrical concept of this album around the perverse yet Violent gore related to the acceptance of Gore saints, symbols and Sarcastic words into the Gore theme is something DEADFLESH have explored on and off on the Cover album " Returning From Decay ". From what angle have you approached this subject on "Returning From Decay "? Good Job with Mark Cooper ( aka Mindrape Art )
Well, even though I come up with many concept ideas for songs, Joe writes a good 90% of all the lyrics. We love the idea of perversity/gore/sickness in lyrics. It's just a part of what we are. I came up with using the name of one of our songs "Returning from Decay" as the title of the CD based on the history of the band. The struggles that have been there with many member changes, finding places to practice (for 2 years we were setting up at friend's houses), money issues, etc. We had to keep "Returning from Decay" so to speak. As far as Mark Cooper goes you can't say enough good things about this guy. His art is super fuckin' sick!!! I told him a basic concept idea for the cover, told him he could read the lyrics for the song if he wanted, and knew that he would know what to do. He, once again, even though I already held him in high regard, well exceded my expectations for the cover art. Anyone that has seen the cover knows that it's fuckin' sweet. Mark is a really cool guy too. Easy to correspond, work with, and whatever he asks for a job you should pay him more for he's worth it.

Production-wise " Returning From Decay " is undoubtedly the most brutal-sounding DEADFLESH please to date yet still manages to harness a clarity that enables all the twin leads and intricacies to shine through in all their Raw Intense . What were your initial ideas of how you wanted this album to sound before you went into the studio ?
Pretty much how it ended up. I know it's always going to be a task to get clarity out of us since we are very fast at times, "nasty"/"dirty" sounding as just a nature of the style, and have many overlapping tracks of vocals, etc., but we decided for this fully we were going to go into a "real" studio for once and spend some money to get a decent recording and they did a great job. As I noted before, I think the next one will be of even better quality, yet still maintaining the "ugliness" that is Dead Flesh for I've learned from the last one.

Did anything unusual and/or spectacular happen when during Records? You tired yet of the comments about the drums’ and Guitar Duties placement in the final mix? Did you have the final call on the final mix? On This " Returning From Decay ", Drum session Play by Kyle Sweeny ?? Or ??
Quite honestly, I was hoping that the experience of making the CD was going to be exciting and fun, but it ended up feeling more like work based on many different stressful circumstances. There is no way the next recording will be that much of an issue and problem. I'll quit first. I haven't heard of any comments about placements of anything. I did have the final call on the final mix, yes. And yes, Kyle Sweeny did all the drums on the CD.

What would be the ultimate Brutal death metal package be for you to either be part of or to attend? The billing can have up to 10 bands :-)
10 bands I'd love to see and/or play with? Well I guess they would have to be active bands so I would say...Napalm Death, Birdflesh, Stickoxydal, Fuck I'm Dead, Slayer, Vomit Spawn, Ameobic Dysentery, CBT, Foetopsy, and Putrid Pile!!! OK, so they are not all active, but that lineup would be sick!!!

Dead Flesh is currently looking for members to Complete Formation on Gig, are DEADFLESH Find cool Guys For Now ??
Me and Joe will keep at it. Looking for full-time drummer. Kyle is filling in here and there for now if needed as noted above for a show or two with "Methadone Abortion Clinic". We will do shows without a bassist, but I'm also looking for a guitarist or a bassist and I'll do the other. On the next recording it's possible that I'll do most of the guitars, bass, and drums. unless we find a full-time drummer by then.

simple Question with your Opinion :
- How fuckin Kickin Riffing : Diego Sanchez of Disgorge or Jeremy Of Origin sound or Jesse Pindato ( RIP ) of Terrorizer / Napalm Death / lock Up ?
- How fuckin Intense drumming Skill and powerfully : Ricky Myers of Disgorge or John Longstreth ORIGIN ??
- How fuckin Great Growling Vokill : Matti ways of Ex. Disgorge or Levi of Disgorge or Ruben of Devourment ??
My personal opinion, I'm a huge fan of Jesse mainly because I'm a HUGE Napalm Death fan. I've seen Origin live a few times and they by far are the sickest band I've ever seen with my own two eyes and they are also the most humble bunch of guys you will ever meet so let's give all of those guys props; especially you little Mike!!! He's so sick on bass it's insane. To be quite honest with you I'm not a huge Disgorge fan or Devourment fan so I don't have an opinion there.

Thanks a ton, guys! Last question, and this one is a doozy. What are your views on stem cell research, human cloning, and the "organic computers" that are sure to result from combining "flesh" with "technology"? Flying cars are quickly becoming a reality as well, what do you think of them?
Man will eventually mix with machine to create immortality for the soul. To bad peons like us aren't invited to the party.
