RETALIATION was founded in December 2005 by Julian Welsch and Sven Lutz under the name of INVALID INJECTION. After several lineup-changes the band - consisting of Julian Welsch, Stefan Lammer, Johannes Schwarzkopf, Heiko Heckner and Juergen Koehler - finally was ready to enter the stage at the beginning of 2007. One year of devastating live-performances and about 12 gigs followed and the first EP 'Enticing' was released by Rising Nemesis Rec in February 2008. After months of intense support for the debut, Stefan and Juergen decided to part ways with the band due to musical differences. The original line-up performed its last gig at Eisenwahn Open Air in July 2008. With Dennis Schneider, Christian Schlosser and Marc Schuhmann joining the horde, RETALIATON forged ahead into new dimensions by adding a new progressive sound to the crushing technical brutality they have been known for.Right now new material is being composed in order to release a new album at the beginning of 2009. Prepare for an intense experience, the time for RETALIATION has just begun!

First time, congratulation for new Mini Cd has be released for Now, and How have people reacted to " Enticing ", and what is the band doing now? are you satisfied with Great Job with your label Rising Nemesis, that label doing some Great Job for RETALIATION ?
Well, ENTICING received great reviews in the local scene. The reactions were proper fantastic! On the European market we got really good feedback, too, what quite of amazed me. However, the collaberation with Rising Nemesis Rec. didn..t went well, so that we decided to part ways with them in January 2009. Since then we..re searching for a new label.
I Know before band use name RETALIATION, i just Hear a name INVALID INJECTION for Release Ep " Enticing ", How about this ?? what First name INVALID INJECTION or RETALIATION for Release Ep " Enticing " ??
When we were found in 2005, our name was INVALID INJECTION, indeed. But a few month after the founding we changed our name into RETALIATION. Because our first release ENTICING got released in February 2008, this does not have anything to do with the old band..s name.
It seems like the debut new Mini CD “ Enticing ” on 2008 has been received rather well. What was the best review you’ve had and which one was the worst?
Hard to say. It always depends on the scene and its viewers. In the Brutal Death Metal scene, we had only little chances with the EP, of course, whereas the CD was received very well in the Melodic Death Thrash and Black Metal scene. I must say I can..t really remember any special reviews.

" Enticing " is RETALIATION most dramatic and dynamically aggressive Brutal Deathmetal with a lot melodic Riff part element inside release thus far, concentrating heavily on creating memorable hooks within a very song-orientated framework. Can you tell me how you approached the song writing this time around and how this process different from your previous Music concept ?
The songwriting process of ENTICING and our new stuff is very different. I composed almost every song and wrote almost all lyrics for the EP myself. Meanwhile the songs are written a lot more structural and more dynamic. Although I write the songs primarliy alone at home on my computer, but once I finished the first few writing steps me and our lead-guitarist Dennis get ready to do some editing. Then the song mostly gets disassembled completely, structures get changed, passages get created, some soli and leads are built in and everything gets combined to a concept that is halfway compatible to the masses.
How much of a part do classical composers play in terms of influencing the way you create your music? This Some modern age brutal, technical and progressive Death Metal ??
I..m purchasing my influences from evereywhere. They range from classic music to black metal, progressive metal, death metal and jazz. There are no special bands or composers which have to be mentioned as influences for RETALIATION. With our next release you will easily perceive that every song is different and you will not discover a leitmotif as clearly as on ENTICING.
Basing the lyrical concept of this album around the perverse yet Living Struggle, Anti-Nazism, Religion and Dark evil related to the acceptance of Gore saints, symbols and Sarcastic words into the Dark theme is something RETALIATION have explored on and off on the Cover album " Enticing ". From what angle have you approached this subject on "Enticing "?
ENTICING does not really have a lyrical concept. Every song stands alone. None of the lyrics is about the scene-usual gore theme. But the quintessence of this EP is to think about yourself and our world, one..s life and also one..s future.The frontcover was a spontanous idea and can only be limited connected with a lyrical concept or the band..s name. We wanted to have a cover that sticks out from the usual ones and I think we succeeded that very well!

Production-wise "Enticing " is undoubtedly the most brutal-sounding RETALIATION please to date yet still manages to harness a clarity that enables all the twin leads and intricacies to shine through in all their Raw Intense . What were your initial ideas of how you wanted this album to sound before you went into the studio ?
To be honest I did not think about the sound before the recording at all. Even if it doesn..t seem that way, ENTICING was kind of a spontanous action. I composed and recorded it in 5 weeks. We entrusted Andreas Hoffmann ( http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fus...endID=374179556 ) with the sound who I knew for a long time.
Did anything unusual and/or spectacular happen when during Records? You tired yet of the comments about the drums’ and Guitar Duties placement in the final mix? Did you have the final call on the final mix?
It didn..t happen anything worth to be mentioned during the recordings. But now I would do many things in a different way, that..s for sure. Our next release will be a big step forward in terms of sound quality, songwriting and innovation.

All this time, you've been touring and sharing the stage with several great bands, too. Which bands did you like best touring with? Which of all your tours is the most unforgettable? Could you share to us some of your best and worst touring experiences?
I can remember a gig with ENDSTILLE in January 2008 very well! This gig was one of the best we..ve ever had. The fans of ENDSTILLE didn..t decline us at all what we really have not expected. In spite of the musical differences and our opening slot they gave us a lot of support.
What would be the ultimate Melodic death metal package be for you to either be part of or to attend? The billing can have up to 10 bands :-)
For fuck..s sake, how should I answer this without showing evidently that rather none of us really listens to Melodic Death Metal?! haha Someone of the readers should answer this question!

It..s not happening that much in our area. Indeed, there are a few Death Metal bands which exist since many years but most of them did not achieve anything yet. Especially in rural districts I..m missing innovative bands very much. The long-established bands always get the same support from the same audience. But to to mention some exceptions I would recommend especially Provocation (Brutal Death, signed with Mutilated Rec.) Fuck Your Shadow from Behind (Deathcore), Beliars Entity (Post Deathcore), Clitsplit (Porngrind) and Iterate (brutal Death/Thrash with our singer Johannes as drummer)

Unfortunately the recording of our album has delayed. We didn..t manage it in December 2008. We plan to record the drums for the new cd soon and the guitars, bass and vocals in Dennis..Fotzenstudios
Thanks a ton, guys! Last question, and this one is a doozy. What are your views on stem cell research, human cloning, and the "organic computers" that are sure to result from combining "flesh" with "technology"? Flying cars are quickly becoming a reality as well, what do you think of them?
These are all things that seem to be inevitably and that will change our lifes essentially. Innovation and technic development don..t have exclusively positive consequences. We don..t want to take a firm stand to this. This would be stuff for many pages, if not for books, not for small interviews. But I want to say: We..re all humans we should think about and question everything in our world.
